Colonia Tovar, Venezuela, October 2023

Colonia Tovar is just 80 km away, west of Caracas. It is a small and picturesque village tucked in the mountains. It is a German settlement in the middle of Venezuela and although most of the people are 2nd or 3rd generation of the migrants from Germany, there is still a strong appreciation of the German heritage. The village seems like being taken out of Bavaria and transferred directly to Venezuela. The nature around it is spectacular and the people are really nice. Visiting Colonia Tovar for the weekend was certainly a great idea!
