July 2019: Introducing Tahir to Poland and Slovakia

The second part of July 2019 was all about continuing the adventure of introducing Tahir to the beauty of Poland and Slovakia. After settling him into Nowy Sącz, we made it a priority to ensure that he felt happy, welcome, and thoroughly spoilt. The time spent with family and friends, sharing the places I hold dear, and seeing Tahir experience it all for the first time was nothing short of a dream come true.

Exploring the Surroundings

We didn’t limit ourselves to Nowy Sącz. Together with Mum, we embarked on trips to explore the stunning region around the town. One of our first stops was the High Tatras in Slovakia, where the majestic mountains left all of us in awe. The natural beauty of the area and the crisp mountain air were refreshing and mesmerising for Tahir, who loved every moment of it.

Back in Poland, we visited Bukowina Tatrzańska, a charming mountain resort village, and Stary Sącz, a town rich in history and tradition. We then took a trip to Niedzica Zamek, the famous castle overlooking the Czorsztyn Lake. Tahir was particularly fascinated by the stories and legends associated with the castle.

A Highlight: The Dunajec River Rafting

The absolute highlight of our excursions was the Spływ Dunajcem, the traditional rafting trip down the Dunajec River Gorge. The scenic journey through the winding river, surrounded by towering cliffs and lush forests, was an unforgettable experience. It was Tahir’s favourite part of the trip, and his excitement was infectious. Watching him enjoy the ride and take in the breathtaking scenery was incredibly heartwarming.

Quality Time Together

When we weren’t travelling, we spent our time in Nowy Sącz, enjoying the summer weather, good food, and each other’s company. We talked endlessly, shared stories, and laughed a lot. It was a time of bonding, of introducing Tahir to the people and places that mean the most to me, and of seeing him fall in love with Poland and Slovakia in his own way.

This part of the summer was all about joy, connection, and creating memories that we will cherish forever. Sharing these experiences with Tahir, Mum, and friends made it all the more special—a true celebration of family, friendship, and the magic of travel.
